Try Not To Laugh Challenge is a series that airs primarily on Smosh Pit as a part of Squad Vlogs. Two types of challenges have been featured: the Video Challenge and the Hot Seat Challenge, with the video challenge featuring on Smosh is Bored and Game Bang and the Hot Seat Challenge featuring as a part of Squad Vlogs and once as a Game Bang. The video challenge was released on December 19, 2016 and the Hot Seat Challenge series debuted on March 23, 2017. On November 1, 2018, the challenge officially became its own series, directed by Josh Mattingly. This eventually resulted in the Try Not To Laugh Live! tour of February 2020, eventually going global at Supa Nova, across Australia.

Hot Seat Challenge

Description

In the first newer Try Not To Laugh Challenge episode, the Smosh Squad confirmed that the game they were playing was actually called "Hot Seat". In this version, one player sits in the "hot seat" and fills their mouth with water; their objective is to keep it in their mouth for the full time limit of thirty seconds. The remaining players take it in turns to try and make the player in the hot seat laugh; they "win" if they make the player spit out (or swallow) the water within the time limit.
