Charles Spencer Agnew (born July 3, 1991) is the Director of Programming for Smosh Games since October 2022.[2] He has been a crew member since 2014.[3] Since the fall of Defy Media, Spencer often appears on videos as a cast member as well.
Spencer Agnew was born and raised in Destin, Florida and attended the University of Florida. After graduating, he spent some time as an intern and then as a freelance video editor. He then went to work as a video editor at Defy in 2014. He continued to work with Smosh after the fall of Defy and assumed the roles of producer and editor. As of 2022, Spencer is the Director of Programming for Smosh Games.[4]
Outside of Smosh, Spencer has been credited as a writer for 16 episodes of Honest Game Trailers.[5]
In 2015, Spencer gained a small fanbase within the ClevverStyle fanbase for being the kindest man in their 5 Girl Hair & Makeup Trends Guys Hate video. He then became a recurring guest on their Beauty Break series.

I funded a perk for Spencer Agnew to get my name in the credits... where the frackin' frack is it?!

Spencer seems to be good friends with much of the cast and crew, such as when Matt Raub brought him on to play for him and Courtney revealing in "Is Joven Coming Back to Smosh Games?" that she talks to Spencer much more than Noah.
Spencer has two sisters - Magdalene (Mags) and Annabelle[6]
Spencer has a very deep knowledge of video games, as is featured in the Can We Guess the Game series.
Spencer is close friends with EVP of Programming & Content, Kiana Parker.
Mr. Krabs is his favorite Spongebob character. [9]
Despite sharing a name, Spencer is not the inspiration for the character The Chosen. Instead, the name was adopted by Shayne as an impromptu choice due to a lack of an existing character name, rather than any deliberate parody or reference to Spencer Agnew. It is just mere coincidence that Spencer is very good at playing the character.
