If you are new to the wiki, this article talks about Smosh and the Smosh Wiki itself.

Back in 2002, Anthony Padilla was walking with one of his high school friends when they were discussing a mosh pit. Anthony himself accidentally said "Smosh" pit, where he began using the funny word. He soon created a website called, a website that his friends and him could hang out and chat on after school and so he could post animations that he created. In 2005 he created a YouTube channel also called Smosh with his best friend Ian Hecox. The two began posting videos of them lip-syncing to movie, TV and video game theme songs in Anthony's bedroom. After awhile, they began posting video shorts which became longer and longer overtime. After close to 12 years on YouTube, Smosh is now the eighth most subscribed YouTube channel with over 22,000,000 subscribers. On a secondary channel called Smosh 2nd Channel (at first IanH) Smosh runs side series such as Squad Vlogs and Smosh Lab. Cartoons are posted on the channel Shut Up! Cartoons. Smosh also has a gaming channel, Smosh Games, with multiple series hosted by Joshua "Jovenshire" Ovenshire, Matt Sohinki, David "Lasercorn" Moss, Mari Takahashi, Wesley Johnson, Amra "FLitz" Ricketts and Ericka "Boze" Bozeman. In 2015 Courtney Miller, Olivia Sui, Shayne Topp, Keith Leak Jr. and Noah Grossman were added to the main Smosh cast. On June 14, 2017 Anthony announced his departure from Smosh, with Smosh now being led by only Ian.
