Smosh Sued for $20 Million was the 2008 Smosh April Fools video. The entire video involves them sitting on Ian's bed while they tell viewers that they have been sued for $20,000,000 by the makers of Pokemon for copyright infringement from their Pokemon Theme Music Video. Although the original music video did indeed get taken off YouTube, they were not really sued and it was actually a joke that they created. They made this clear some days after the video upload with the inclusion of '(April Fools)' in its title. The video involved the duo talking naturally in front of the camera while showing various props and personal items that they wanted to sell as a fundraising event.

Items For "Sale"[]

  • Anthony's grey beanie from There Will Be Pokemon and he also wears it on a regular basis
  • Ian's Smosh trucker hat
  • The Jesus action figure that Ian licked in the Pokemon Theme Music Video
  • A fake bloodied arm that was used in the Handshake and Quest for the Scooter videos
  • A Pokemon Catch 'Em shirt that they made a while back
  • A Guitar Hero guitar which Anthony uses in Ian's Birthday
  • A notepad full of sketched ideas which they use to help make videos, with unused ideas such as MY MAGICAL TAPEWORM!
  • The award they won from the YouTube 2006 Awards for Comedy
  • A 2 liter empty bottle of Mountain Dew that Ian and Anthony drank the day before
  • 60 minute hard copies of Boxman's Girlfriend and Cat Soup containing outtakes
  • The pair of SpongeBob SquarePants boxers from the Pokemon Theme Music Video
  • The camera itself

Trivia/Goofs[]

  • They said that viewers could buy all this stuff and more by going on a link under the video called http://smosh.com/BuyOurStuff which actually did not work. Smosh explained this in their description below:

For the first part of the day, if you tried to purchase something on http://smosh.com/BuyOurStuff, it would always give the error "This item cannot be purchased because it is currently in someone else's shopping cart. Please try back in 15 minutes". Later in the day we decided to make all of the order buttons redirect to a page that said "April Fooled You!" (So no, we did not make any money from this!)
