Trivia:

• This was the first Seasonal Games that did not last for at least a month. Instead it lasted only a week, with a daily video on either Smosh Games or Smosh Pit.
  • As revealed in a SmoshCast Highlights clip, this was because Defy Media did not want Summer Games to be made that year and only gave Matt Raub an eighth of the typical budget for a Seasonal Games.
  • This Seasonal Games also featured the least amount of Special Episodes, with only one.
  • This was also the latest that Summer Games has ever aired, and the first time it did not begin airing in July.
• This was the third Seasonal Games to have a theme that wasn't based around the season it took place in, with this Games being themed around balloons and inflatables (the first two being Winter and Summer Games 2017 respectively).
  • While Smosh Summer Games: Camp could also be defined as not themed around the season, residential camps in America are notorious for taking place during the summer.
• This was the first Seasonal Games to not feature Sohinki or Flitz. It can be assumed that Sohinki was asked to take part but declined.
• The "You'll Float Too" (LVP) award's name was derived from the movie It.
• This was the first Seasonal Games to feature team captains that were not Ian and Anthony. The 2018 captains were chosen based on awards given at Summer Games 2017: the Inflatabulls were captained by Joven (Biggest Fail, Summer Games 2017) and the Balloonatics by Shayne (Most Epic Moment, Summer Games 2017).
• Instead of the captains picking team members, teams were chosen by drawing different-colored balloons.
• This was the first Seasonal Games to feature Lasercorn and Wes on the same team, meaning that one or the other would have to break their streak of respective wins and losses. Ultimately, the Balloonatics won, meaning that Lasercorn kept his winning streak and Wes's losing streak was finally broken.
  • Due to the amount of losses he had earned before, Wes was determined to be "cursed" by other Smosh members, including the staff and editors. Wes's curse featured heavily in this year's Summer Games, hinting that something may have ultimately changed - and sure enough, at the end of the final event video a cutscene was shown with a voiceover, confirming that "Wes's curse" had finally been lifted.

• Smosh Summer Games 2019 officially has the lowest participation level of any other Seasonal Games in terms of actual Smosh cast members, with only eleven competing (not counting Winter Games 2016, when Ian and Anthony acted as commentators but were still technically part of their respective teams).
  • It was revealed in the twenty-second episode of SmoshCast that Sohinki was invited to take part, but was in Italy at the time of recording.
  • As a result, Kimmy Jimenez appeared as a guest competitor to even out the teams.
• This is the fourth Seasonal Games to have a theme that wasn't based around the season it took place in, with this Games being themed around the Apocalypse, inspired by the Mad Max movies and the TV series The 100.

Trivia

• Lasercorn (6-0) is currently undefeated in any Smosh Seasonal Games, while Wes was the last member to win, with a record of five losses in a row until finally being put on the winning team in Smosh Summer Games 2018.
  • Wes's complete lack of wins prior to 2018 inspired the hashtag '#wesiscursed', coined during Winter Games 2017.
    • As of Summer Games 2018, Keith shares Wes's record of five Seasonal Games losses; however, Keith only has an ongoing losing streak of four, as compared to Wes's notorious five consecutive losses.
  • Wes, Keith, Noah, Mari and Damien have yet to win a Winter Games, while Sohinki and Boze have yet to win a Summer Games.
• In the eleventh episode of SmoshCast, it was revealed that the original concept for Smosh Summer Games was created by Matt Raub and Joe Bereta as a bonding exercise between Smosh Squad and Smosh Games, especially as their individual offices were on opposite sides of their floor and the two channels rarely interacted with each other.
• Until the team lineups for Summer Games 2019 were revealed, Courtney and Joven had always been on the same team (Bananarama, Blue Balls, Kumbayaaas, DaBlizzards, Cowbaes and Inflatabulls). When both have competed, Boze and Sohinki have also always been on the same team (Spaghetti Yetis and Cowbaes).
• Smosh Seasonal Games has served as the official debut of two Smosh members: Shayne Topp in Summer Games 2015, and Boze in Winter Games 2017.
• On her personal channel, Courtney has a vlog entitled "BEST CAMP EVER!" that shows the behind the scenes of the week spent filming Smosh Summer Games: Camp. She later uploaded another vlog during Smosh Summer Games: Wild West entitled "BEST SUMMER GAMES YET!".
• Some Seasonal Games events have appeared in multiple seasons:
  • Some form of Punishment Sport appeared in all five seasons released onwards from Smosh Summer Games: Camp (Punishment Archery, Punishment Curling, Punishment Shootout, Punishment Scuba and Punishment Zombie Shootout).
    • Coincidentally, every team that has won Punishment Sport has also gone on to lose the entire Games that season, for the first four seasons (Archery - Kumbayaaas, Curling - DaBlizzards, Shootout - Cowbaes, and Scuba - Inflatabulls).
  • Mousetraps were a part of at least one of the challenges for each of the first four seasons (Blindfolded Mousetrap Challenge, Exploding Kittens Mousetrap Gauntlet, Mario Mousetrap Olympics, and Snowboard Mousetraps & Opening Ceremony.)
  • There has been a form of Netflix and Chill and Pain Pong in four seasons in total (Winter Games 2016, Summer Games 2016, Winter Games 2017 and Summer Games 2019.)
    • A one-off episode of Netflix and Chill was also released on Smosh Games early in 2018, during which Matt Raub revealed that the episode was intended to be a sort of substitute for the entirety of Smosh Winter Games that year.
  • A belly flop competition has appeared in four seasons of Summer Games (Summer Games 2016, Summer Games 2017, Summer Games 2018 and Summer Games 2019).
• During Smosh Summer Games: Wild West, Joven was viewed by many fans to be the rightful MVP, causing mild uproar on social media when the award went to Flitz instead.
  • This mirrored a previous fan outrage during Smosh Summer Games: Camp, after Olivia's controversial second MVP award, which many viewers believed she didn't deserve.
  • An estimate of who the rightful MVP and LVP were in each competition is calculated on Smosh Seasonal Games Rankings.
• The third Smosh Winter Games was due to be uploaded throughout February 2018, but was ultimately canceled, presumably due to the presence of Flitz after his recent allegations of assault.^{(reference needed)}
• After the cancellation of Smosh Winter Games 2018, Smosh confirmed on Twitter that while Winter Games would not take place that year, Smosh Summer Games 2018 would still be happening, and they requested location ideas in the same statement. However, no kind of Summer Games promotion occurred on any of the Smosh YouTube channels for several months, and in July, the traditional month used for the Summer Games upload schedule, nothing was uploaded. Instead, in a break with tradition, the first promotion and the full broadcast were released in late August, with a much shorter run-time than previous years.
• Since Smosh's parent company, Defy Media, closed its doors, it became clear that there would not be a Smosh Winter Games in 2019 and that the future of Smosh Seasonal Games as a whole would become uncertain. However, in a video on Olivia's personal channel, she and Mari both expressed hope that they would be able to do Summer Games again someday, and sure enough, the eleventh episode of SmoshCast confirmed that Smosh Summer Games 2019 was being planned; while it was confirmed that Joven (and by extension Wes) would likely take part, the question of whether other former members would return to compete was left unanswered.
  • On July 16, 2019, the official trailer for Smosh Summer Games - Apocalypse was uploaded, which officially confirmed that Wes and Joven would be returning to compete, but that the other potential competitors, Sohinki and Boze, would not.
