The official Smosh Games lineup in 2017
The Smosh Games Crew was the name given to the official cast of Smosh Games. They hosted and appeared in all series on the channel (with the exception of Shayne co-hosting The Damien & Shayne Show during its run).
Since the bankruptcy of Defy Media and the subsequent acquisition of Smosh by Mythical Entertainment, the group name of "Smosh Games Crew" is essentially obsolete, as the Smosh Family integrated the entire cast of Smosh together under one umbrella.
History[]
The group was launched on September 26, 2012, alongside Smosh Games. The group's founding members were Ian Hecox and Anthony Padilla from the main channel, Smosh Pit Weekly host Mari Takahashi, and former Clevver Games presenters David "Lasercorn" Moss, Joshua "Jovenshire" Ovenshire and Matthew Sohinki.
Beginning in October 2014, the official cast was expanded for the first time, with the additions of Wesley "Wes" Johnson and Amra "FLitz" Ricketts, followed by Ericka "Boze" Bozeman and Damien Haas in early to mid-2017. During this time, Ian and Anthony made less appearances on Smosh Games to focus on the main channel and other major projects.
On August 5, 2017, Lasercorn and Sohinki both announced they would be "leaving" Smosh Games to become co-hosts of a new gaming channel, ToasterGhost, along with Pamela Horton and YouTube cosplayer Amy Lynn. They did not leave the crew as a whole, as they still appeared in Smosh Games videos on a part-time basis. On January 4, 2018, FLitz abruptly left Smosh Games to legally deal with allegations against him of sexual assault, without risking a potential negative impact on the rest of the Smosh cast and crew; he has since been cleared of any wrongdoing.
After the shutdown of Defy Media, Mari, Wes, Jovenshire, Lasercorn and Sohinki continued to collaborate with each other to create new content on their personal channels, but Boze and Damien never reunited with the crew. Eventually, on January 12, 2019, Boze announced on her Twitter account that she will be leaving her YouTube career, and thus Smosh Games, to become a marketing director, confirming that she would not return if Smosh re-emerged with another parent company. She eventually restarted her YouTube career in 2020, now focusing on true crime videos, and has collaborated occasionally with most of the aforementioned cast since.
After Smosh, as a whole, relaunched under Mythical Entertainment, Damien was made a full-time cast member and began appearing on the main channel and Smosh Pit. On April 3, 2019, in the seventh episode of the SmoshCast, it was confirmed that Lasercorn and Mari were returning to Smosh Games with the relaunch on April 10. However, on April 12, Jovenshire confirmed in the comments of a video on his personal channel that he, Sohinki and Wes would not be returning to Smosh Games as full-time members, with their status being officially confirmed as part-time in the eleventh episode of the SmoshCast on May 1, 2019. The remaining Smosh Games Crew members (except for Sohinki) reunited for Smosh Summer Games: Apocalypse.
With the relaunch of Smosh Games, both the Smosh Games Crew and the Smosh Squad ceased to exist in favor of a unified cast named the Smosh Family, in an effort for both groups to work more closely together, to share cast members across all four channels and to blur the separation between the groups that was established by Defy. This move resulted in a wider range of Smosh Family members (and even crew members) participating in videos such as Ian, Courtney Miller, Shayne Topp, Matt Raub, Sarah Whittle, Tommy Bowe, and Spencer Agnew.
At the end of 2019, both Jovenshire and Wes made their final appearances as Smosh members, while Sohinki never formally returned to Smosh at all after the Defy shutdown; he was invited to take part in Smosh Summer Games: Apocalypse but was on vacation at the time. Lasercorn and Mari both made their final appearances as Smosh members in 2020. With the departure of almost every Smosh Games cast member, the rest of the Smosh Family members have since regularly participated in videos, especially after the channel shifted its focus to showcasing tabletop and roleplaying games.
In March 2020, the aforementioned former members and FLitz, who left Smosh two years prior, reunited to form NewElementSix (NE6). Starting as a podcast, it eventually transitioned to its own channel a month later, to where they posted gaming videos alongside the podcast. This venture was short-lived however, ending on June 26, 2020 due to issues surrounding one of the members. In April 2022, Mari, Lasercorn, Jovenshire and Sohinki reunited once again to form OGSoG, a channel with a similar format to NE6 where they posted gaming videos and vlogs, as well as a podcast. OGSoG ended in December 2024 due to the members focusing on other endeavors.

Trivia[]
- Mari was originally an official cast member of Smosh 2nd Channel as the host of Smosh Pit Weekly until its cancellation in 2015, but returned to the position in 2017 almost immediately after the channel changed its name to "Smosh Pit". Fellow Smosh Games member Damien Haas and Smosh Squad member Shayne Topp replaced her after she abruptly left the position for good in January 2018 (possibly due to preparations for her wedding, which was held in April that year).
- Joven, Sohinki, and Lasercorn were all part of Clevver Games before joining Smosh to create Smosh Games in 2012.
- Before this, they all spent time working for another YouTube brand called Mahalo, where Wes and Flitz also worked at the same time.
- As of 2022, Damien is the only active member from the former Smosh Games Crew lineup.
- Mari made three return appearances in 2023, being the only former Smosh Games cast member to do so. Each appearance was on a different channel.
- In the one-day window between Damien's official induction and Lasercorn's and Sohink's departure, the Smosh Games Crew had the greatest number of full-time members in its history, with 8.
