Smosh and Smosh Games both were hacked on September 27, 2016. The hackers were two people from Letsleak.net who identify themselves as Rebel and Hoods. Smosh and Smosh Games both "posted" a video titled "Hacked.", which announced who the hackers were. The video was taken down by Smosh soon after. The hack caused quite a surprised reaction from Smosh fans on Twitter. It was talked about in videos on YouTube channels Scarce and ChaosUnsilenced, also both uploaded on September 27. It is unknown how the hackers were able to access the channels in the first place. The video was reuploaded on the channel bDrey as "SMOSH HACKED, REUPLOAD!!!" and was later removed.
