Rhett James McLaughlin (born October 11, 1977) and Charles Lincoln "Link" Neal III (born June 1, 1978) better known by their YouTube channel name Rhett and Link are two YouTubers that host Good Mythical Morning, a talk-show posted on weekdays at 6:00 am EST on their YouTube channel. They are the co-founders of Smosh's second parent company, Mythical Entertainment.

A frequent collaborator of Smosh, Rhett and Link are one of the few guests to have appeared in all four major Smosh channels: Smosh, Smosh Pit, Smosh Games and SmoshCast.

Biography[]

They both grew up in Buies Creek, North Carolina, where they met in first grade and were friends ever since, attending high school and rooming in college together. They started their first channel in 2006, less than a year after Smosh's was created. They now have over 12 million subscribers on YouTube.

Smosh Ownership[]

In early 2019, Rhett and Link's company, Mythical Entertainment made the decision to bail Smosh out of debt, and acquire them as an asset of the company. It was officially announced in the video "The rumors are true...", that Mythical had bought Smosh, and that Smosh would be returning in full. Rhett and Link themselves announced the acquisition of Smosh in the Let's Talk About That! episode, Spicy Tea Party Challenge ft. TomSka on March 2, 2019. Link stressed that Mythical will give Smosh full creative freedom, and thus, they expected that the videos will be made better as a result, contrary to what Smosh experienced with its former parent company, Defy Media.

On June 20, 2023, it was announced that Rhett and Link sold Smosh back to its co-founders, Ian Hecox and Anthony Padilla, but retained a minority stake. They will continue to be involved in an advisory capacity.[1]
