Patrick McDonald was the head writer and director of programming at Smosh. He has also made appearances on several Try Not to Laughs, Eat It Or Yeet It: Lunchbox Edition, Courtney and Patrick Play 2 Truths 1 Lie, and Can We Teach A College Class? | The Challenge Pit. He was also the first person to play the "Sax Man" in the Funeral Roast videos. Patrick went from working full-time for Smosh to working freelance in early 2023.
In 2021, Patrick began the podcast Artists On Artists On Artists On Artists with Kylie Brakeman, Jeremy Culhane, and Angela Giarratana.
McDonald also writes / produces content for Dropout.tv.
