Orgasm is a physiological state of heightened sexual excitement brought about by sexual stimulation and characterized by muscle spasms in the pelvic area, among other things. It first appeared in Smosh media in "Oh, the Joys of Puberty," a 2002 Smosh.com article written by Ian Hecox.
Description[]
Orgasm is a physiological state of heightened sexual excitement and gratification, brought about by sexual stimulation such as masturbation and characterized by an abrupt increase in heart rate and blood pressure and muscle spasms in the pelvic area. These muscle spasms cause contractions in the lower vagina in women and, in men, contractions in the urethra that cause ejaculation. Orgasm can occur while a person is asleep and dreaming, a type of orgasm called a nocturnal emission,[2] or "wet dream."[3]
Fictional history[]
In 2002, fifteen-year-old Ian Hecox started undergoing puberty. He first discovered this after unknowingly becoming erect while walking to a Burger King location, oblivious to the bulge and wet stain in his pants. Over the next two weeks, he started experiencing frequent wet dreams that resulted in him orgasming and soiling his bedsheets in his sleep. Two weeks after discovering that he was starting puberty, he was asleep in his bedroom in his family's apartment when he had a dream in which he was about to "make sweet love" to a girl until his alarm woke him up. After realizing that he was erect and feeling his bedsheets, Hecox realized that he had soiled them for the fifth time that week, and decided to sneak out to the local laundromat to get them cleaned. Over the following two weeks, he continued experiencing uncontrollable erections and, occasionally, orgasms, both at home and at his school. While recounting these events in an article on Smosh.com, Hecox referred to the act of orgasming as "let[ting] loose the water of the dams."[1]
Behind the scenes[]
Orgasms were introduced in Smosh media under the euphemism "let[ting] loose the water of the dams" in "Oh, the Joys of Puberty," a Smosh.com article submitted by[1] Staff member Ian Hecox[4] under the username "PubicSmosh" and published on November 13, 2002.[1]
