LEGO LORD OF THE RINGS! is the 9th episode of Dope! or Nope, hosted by Sohinki and Jovenshire, who play the demo of the action-adventure game LEGO The Lord of the Rings. It was released on November 27, 2012.

Description

Lego Lord of the Rings has a demo, but is it Dope?

Dope

1. Jovenshire doped how the voices, despite being pulled straight from the film, are presented.
2. Jovenshire doped the Item Wheel, allowing him to utilize both Legolas's bow and daggers.
3. Sohinki doped the presentation while watching a cutscene.
4. Sohinki doped the scenery in the background of the level.
5. Sohinki doped the option for PVP combat.
6. Sohinki doped Gimli's "badass" animations.
7. Jovenshire and Sohinki doped the LEGO humor in the cutscene, even if restricted by using the original dialogue.
8. Jovenshire doped how the part of the wall of the castle in Helm's Deep that exploded was made entirely out of LEGO bricks.

Nope

1. Sohinki noped that he could not toss Gimli over the edge of the wall.
2. Jovenshire noped that the Item Wheel takes too long to use in combat.
3. Sohinki noped that he could not go out past the wall and into the battlefield and was killed instantly whenever he tried to do so.

Final Verdict

With eight Dopes and three Nopes, LEGO The Lord of the Rings receives an overall Dope.

Trivia

• This is the first video in which Jovenshire wears a Twilight t-shirt as part of his bet with Lasercorn.
• Sohinki noped how the cutscene they were watching was too similar to the film, but after discussing it a bit with Jovenshire, he retracted it.
• Jovenshire doped the ability to play splitscreen, but the fact that rotated depending on each player's position made him dizzy.
  • This could have been fixed by going to the Settings menu and switching the splitscreen line from "Dynamic" to "Fixed Vertical".
• Jovenshire apparently did not know that he could also switch weapons and items with the controller's shoulder buttons.
