Kinectimals is a 2010 digital pet game developed by Frontier Developments and published by Microsoft Game Studios for the Xbox 360. It was a launch title for the Kinect, with versions also available for mobile devices.
In the game, players can interact with virtual animals similar to pets and gameplay includes activities such as teaching tricks, guiding them obstacle courses, and general free-form play. There are eleven different virtual animals to choose from, all based on wild cats, and players can use the scan tag to unlock new cubs. The cat-lemur fairy Bumble (voiced by Richard Steven Horvitz) guides the player through the game. Players can also use the scan tag to unlock new cubs.
An add-on, Kinectimals: Bear Island, was released as DLC on October 11, 2011, along with Kinectimals: Now with Bears!, a single retail disc that bundles Bear Island with the base game. Upon release, Kinectimals was received well.
