In the story, the killer gnomes forced fifteen-year-old Ian Hecox to write a story detailing his discomforting early experiences with puberty. At the end of the article in the section entitled "The reasons to love puberty," interspersed between sarcastic tips and advice to handle puberty Hecox revealed that he was forced by killer gnomes to write the story, which he was able to mention since he believed that they were not watching him at that moment, and pled for help to be sent his way. However, the killer gnomes appeared and proceeded to stab him, which Hecox managed to write about with another plea for help, but the rest was cut off.[1]
