Just Dance 2020 is a 2019 dance rhythm game developed and by Ubisoft Paris and published by Ubisoft for the Nintendo Switch, Wii, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Google Stadia. As with previous installments of the franchise, players must mimic the onscreen dancer's choreography to a chosen song using either motion controllers or the game's associated smartphone app (which, however, is incompatible with versions of the game on Nintendo consoles, in favor of exclusively supporting Joy-Con or Wii Remote).
There is also a subscription-based service called Just Dance Unlimited for accessing a streaming library of songs, including new exclusives and songs from previous Just Dance games. As with all previous releases to include Unlimited, the feature is only supported on current-generation consoles. As of the release of Just Dance 2020, all future songs added to the service will be exclusive to it.
Ubisoft's announcement of the Wii version was met with surprise and ridicule from gamers who wondered why Ubisoft is supporting a platform that was discontinued in 2013. A popular theory was that this was due to the Wii's very large install base and organizations such as hospitals use Just Dance as part of patient rehabilitation programs. However, a Ubisoft representative denied this, stating simply "A lot of our [Just Dance series] players are children and families who continue to play on Wii."
