Honest Game Trailers was a show that airs every Tuesday on Smosh Games. It originally aired every other Saturday but moved to every Tuesday. It was one of Smosh Games' most successful video series.
Synopsis[]
In a similar manner to Honest Trailers in the YouTube channel, Screen Junkies, fake trailers are created based on honesty of the game or series. They bluntly, negatively, but humorously review games while pointing out parts that lack common sense. Every episode (except the first two) shows the comments of what the viewers want, starts with the words "The following trailer is rated H for honest" and then the actual trailer is shown. At the end of each trailer, the narrator reveals the "honest" or arguably the more appropriate title of the video game.
Production[]
The same man who does the Honest Trailer voiceover, Jon Bailey, does the voiceover for the Honest Game Trailers.
Production on the series was suspended on October 10, 2017, along with all other Screen Junkies-related programming, due to Screen Junkies co-founder Andy Signore’s dismissal following sexual harassment allegations. The series returned after a two-week hiatus on October 24, 2017.
Due to the closure of Defy Media, the show aired its last episode on Smosh Games on November 6, 2018.
After Smosh announced its acquisition by Mythical Entertainment on February 22, 2019, all episodes of the series were set to private. On May 30, 2019, Screen Junkies announced via Twitter that FANDOM had acquired the series and it returned on June 4, 2019. As a result, almost all Smosh Games-era videos of the series were moved to the Fandom Games (later the Honest Game Trailers) channel.
