Synopsis[]
Max (Ian Hecox) stands inside his garage as he waits for the door to raise. While the vocalists (Ian Hecox, Anthony Padilla) sing about how "cool" and "hardcore" he is, once open, Max hops atop his bicycle and speeds down the street on his way to school. Notably, he intentionally keeps his helmet dangling by the strap on his handlebar instead of strapped onto his head. On the way to school, he speeds in front of a car that is forced to swerve and brake to avoid colliding with him, talks on and curses into his phone, hits on a chick (Anthony Padilla), smells his armpit, performs wheelies, takes a messy swig from his water bottle, throws a pile of school papers into the street, and occasionally poses for the camera. At one point, he swats a stack of books out of the hands of a pedestrian (Anthony Padilla). As he rides off, the pedestrian shouts at Max, prompting him to turn around and return to stomp on and grind his bicycle tire into the books, while the pedestrian helplessly watches. During this, the vocalists discover that Max is only ten years old, but they decide that they do not care about Max's age as, according to them, Max is more "cool" than they are.
Later, while riding through a park, while the vocalists try to warn him, Max's helmet is knocked off the handlebar and lands in front of the front tire, which trips Max and the bike over, knocking him unconscious. The vocalists sing about how Max suffered a concussion and would be in a coma for the next three weeks, but, according to them, it was worth it because helmets make one appear "really geeky". While the cameraman pans around Max's unconscious body, one of the vocalists wonders aloud why he sounds like a lame copy of the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Trivia[]
- This was the final video Smosh uploaded to their LiveVideo channel.[6]
- Ian and Anthony watched "Hardcore Max" in the "WATCHING OLD VIDEOS #4".[7]
- Anthony composed the song in one night, using GarageBand.[5]
- The footage of Ian riding the bike was recorded by a cameraman who, at the time, was a friend of Ian and Anthony. They filmed Ian from the passenger seat of Anthony's car as Anthony drove.[4]
- Ian, as the main vocalist, swore excessively near the middle section of the song as a joke about how "stupid" people sound when they excessively swear. Anthony later recalled that people were mad at him and Ian for the gratuitous swearing at the time of the video's release.[8]
- According to Anthony, he was glad Ian took the role of Max because Anthony could barely ride one at the time, having learned how to only a few years previously.[9]
- After Max falls off his bike, the song turns into a parody of "By the Way" by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, which is commented on at the end of the song.[10]
- This was the first video to use the new intro starting in 2007 until 2009 in "That Damn Prison Break" video.
