"Wow... You're so beautiful especially now with more frosting."
—Shayne Topp[src]

Frosting, also known as icing, is a soft and sweet mixture used on baked goods. It was first mentioned in "Oh, the Joys of Puberty," a 2002 Smosh.com article written by Ian Hecox.

Description[]

Frosting, also known as icing, is a sweet, sugar-based soft mixture used to fill, coat, add flavor to, and improve the appearance and texture of baked goods such as cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and pastries. Ingredients include sugar, butter, milk, water, eggs, and flavoring, and frosting can be cooked or uncooked and its consistency can range from thick to thin. Frosting helps a cake's keeping qualities by forming a protective coating around it, which seals in moisture and flavor and allows it to be eaten over multiple days. The terms "frosting" and "icing" are used interchangeably in the United States, but in other countries, "icing" is the more popular term.[1]

Fictional history[]

"These sheets have frosting on them! mmm yummy!"
—A homeless man[src]

Frosting was first mentioned in "Oh, the Joys of Puberty," a 2002 Smosh.com article written by Ian Hecox. Set that year, Hecox describes a series of mishaps that occurred when he started puberty. During one incident, he had a wet dream that left his bedsheets soiled, prompting him to head to a local laundromat, where he left his sheets while he returned home to retrieve change for the laundry machine. While he was gone, a homeless man stole the bedsheets and confused the fluid on it for frosting, which he screamed about as he fled the laundromat. Hecox witnessed the man running away while screaming about the "frosting" on his bedsheets as he arrived, leaving the boy to return home "sheet-less".[2]

The Pop-Tart toaster pastries advertised during Smosh's More On Smosh Week were advertised to have more frosting. The Pop-Tarts with more frosting were featured in the Smosh video "WEIRD GUY MAKES A POP-TART GIRLFRIEND", in which Shayne Topp fantasized that he made a girlfriend out of Pop-Tarts during a pitch meeting. During the dream sequence, he commented that his partner was more beautiful with the increased quantity of frosting.[3]
