The Easy Step is a recurring device in Smosh videos. It first appeared in the 2007 video of the same name, after which it made occasional appearances.
Description[]
The Easy Step is a tool that can be used as a stepstool or footrest. It is a grey cinderblock coated in bright red spray paint and has the words "EASY STEP" spray-painted in black on one side. According to its commercial, the Easy Step was designed with technology originally developed for NASA, with a patented Swedish design that allows it to be durable while maintaining a light weight. The Easy Step has three forms, each designed to provide a specific height: "short", or having the cinderblock on its long side; "tall", or having the cinderblock properly upright; and, "for those extremely hard-to-reach places", "grande", or having the cinderblock on its short side, effectively doubling its height.[4]
The makers of the Easy Step later released two "Easy"-line products: the Easy Sweep and the Easy Poop,[5] as well as the Runbrella[6] and Douche Board.[7]

"Easy Step"[]

This video is a commercial for the Easy Step, demonstrating the product's usefulness and versatility as a stepping tool and footrest. The commercial also shows Ian and Anthony as "satisfied customers" (although Anthony acts far more "satisfied" than Ian, flashing thumbs-up after every use and is even shown sleeping with his Easy Step). At the end of the commercial, viewers are offered the Easy Step inexchange for "six easy payments" of $19.95 and a talking picture frame of Owen Wilson. The disclaimer at the bottom, however, informs viewers that the Easy Step is no longer available for purchase and why: After paying Smosh to create the commercial, Smosh obtained a picture of the Easy Step company's CEO nude and in a hot tub with Clay Aiken. They proceeded to blackmail the company with "very strange demands", with which the company initially obliged until they refused to attend a Madonna concert with them. Soon after, company employees found their CEO dead next to a stereo playing Clay Aiken music; because their CEO had a 99% share in the company and, when he died, all of his money going to his cats, the Easy Step company became bankrupt.[4]
A "Breaking News" segment (anchored by Tom Cruise) interrupts the commercial, informing viewers that the Easy Step has actually been recalled due to a total of 27 related deaths.[8]
"A Hairy Situation w/ Billy Mays"[]
When Ian and Anthony auditioned for the role as Billy Mays' successor, they performed for an advertisement for the Easy Sweep, a product "from the makers of the Easy Step".[9]
"Easy Poop"[]
The Easy Poop was advertised by Anthony (as Billy Mays) as another product "from the makers of the Easy Step and the Easy Sweep".[5] A clip from this video was featured at the end of "A Very Hairy Situation w/ Billy Mays".[10]
"CHARLIE THE DRUNK GUINEA PIG 3"[]

After Ian caught Charlie making out with Antoinette Padilla, he fulfilled his earlier threat and proceeded to fight Charlie. After some back-and-forth, Ian managed to get the upper hand after using a spatula to get Charlie off his face, using a knife to repeatedly stab the guinea pig, throwing him onto the couch (knocking Antoinette out in the process), and finish him off by crushing him with an Easy Step.[11] Charlie, however, survived the fight, later getting his revenge on Ian in the hospital.[12]
"MOLESTER MOON"[]
As Molester Moon chases Ian and Anthony around their house and property, Ian warns Anthony to watch out for objects lying on the ground, as "the people being chased always trip over them!". Soon after, when they reach their backyard, Ian trips over a stuffed animal and Anthony trips over their Easy Step.[13]
"HOLY CRAP! 2 BILLION VIEWS!"[]
Benny Jean, Cletus, and That Damn Neighbor from the That Damn Neighbor series are shown together in the building featuring many Smosh characters. Cletus is using an Easy Step as a footrest.[14]
"DOUCHE BOARD COMMERCIAL"[]
The Douche Board is advertised as a product "from the people that brought you the Easy Step!", with a picture of the Easy Step onscreen.[7]
