Samuel Chanse McCrary (born c. 1995) is an American actor who began appearing in Smosh videos in May 2022. He was confirmed to be a member of the Smosh Family in August 2022.
Biography[]
Outside of Smosh, McCrary has recorded several TikToks and performed in for The Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre & Story Pirates.

- Chanse was connected to various other Smosh members before officially joining the channel.
- Through the sketch team Moon Goon, he has known Angela Giarratana, Josh Fleury (editor), and Patrick McDonald (writer and former Director of Programming of Smosh Main) since at least 2019.[2]
- Chanse has been shown to have a very high tolerance to spicy food.[3] [4]
- Chanse mentioned to have gotten into a minor motorcycle accident in Texas.[5]
- A running joke within the Smosh Community is Chanse knowing very little about Smosh, as referenced in videos like Chanse & Ian Play 2 Truths 1 Lie and Learning WAY Too Much About Each Other.
- Chanse used to sleep with a katana and a bo staff and would practice seeing how fast he could equip them.[6]
- Since Chanse was little, he would have a set of phrases that he would frequently use. Catchphrases used during his time on Smosh include: “That’s good” “Don’t do that” “And I’ve always said that” “Ew” “No” “Leave it” “That’s funny”[7]
- Chanse has a scar on his stomach from being thrown onto stone steps by his older cousin.[8]
