As you may have noticed, I have been experimenting with an official infobox design for Smosh Wiki for quite some time. I have recently tried it out on Template:Person, and have tested it out on a few high-traffic person pages (so far, namely Anthony Padilla, Ian Hecox, Joshua Ovenshire, and Mari Takahashi) and a couple of smaller ones (namely Jason Michael Fong and Matthew Mercer (which is apparently currently the most popular page atm, according to Special:PopularPages).
Any thoughts, comments, questions, ideas, etc.?
So, anyone who has checked my edit history would know that over the past few months, I have been tinkering with a few different infobox designs. After much trial and error (highlighted by each of my created infobox's extensive edit history, most of which are small tweaks and corrections as opposed to large-scale changes or additions), I have decided to leave it up to the community, both because it should not be just my decision, and I am also being very indecisive about this.
So far, there are two main infobox designs that I have been using, and thus two that I feel are the best:
- This infobox design. This one is the cleanest, most concise design, and it easily accommodates bullet points and paragraph-like data fields (the stuff on the right) without constricting the data labels (the stuff on the left). It is easy to make new color schemes, and the alternating data field colors add a nice aesthetic touch.
- This infobox design. This one is more easily adaptable and I find the coding to be much more concise. The first infobox requires a lot of coding (which can be seen here); meanwhile, this infobox allows any specific differences (i.e. shaping, color themes, etc.) to be done directly on the template's page, hence why I say it is easily adaptable. I was also thinking of fixing some of its flaws (i.e. its tendency to constrict labels unless there are horizontal data fields) by implementing some coding elements from Critical Role Wiki (examples: here and here).
So what does everyone think? Also, if you have recommendations on other unique and good infobox designs, let me know.
(Edit: Unless they can be merged...?)
The definition of a deviated septum is incorrect. Wikipedia definition: deviated nasal septum (DNS)[1] is a common physical disorder of the nose, involving a displacement of the nasal septum.
The nasal septum is the central bone and cartilage of the nose.
In other words, Anthony's central bone of his nose was crooked.
I have disabled the comments because of the ammounts of swearing in them and I am tired of it!
Hey Guy and gals Just telling you that there will be two more polls that YOU get to Vote for a User of the Month and User of the Year BUT YOU CAN NOT VOTE FOR YOU SELF!!
We have our newest member to the head admin team! We all know he was ready for it and it is NinjaFatGuy but it is too obvious since you read the title :P Anyway, a big congrats to him! He had redesigned the wiki in a better way and he even has more edits than me and there is no doubt he would beat DoubleDee! So lets give a huge thanks to him
Hello guys. I am not sure if everyone who has recently visited the Smosh.com has been chosen to be a beta tester, but I have. I have viewed the new Smosh.com, and in my opinion, it is not a great improvement. They've taken out the whole cardbaord setting, and replaced it with "black polkadots" (although, that was only a beta, so everything may not be what it seems.) Anyways, they also updated a logo, background, and look. The logo looks really nice, so I am going to try to get that on the wiki. Just wanna let you guys know!
