Ian Hecox and Anthony Padilla introduce Smosh Memberships.
Through lip-syncing to their own voices while stiffly standing and gesturing at a whiteboard, Ian Hecox and Anthony Padilla introduce the Smosh Memberships channel program and the three tiers of exclusive perks fans can enjoy while supporting a "free and independent" Smosh. Padilla introduces the first tier, for which viewers pay three dollars for access to an exclusive community chat and channel stickers that allow their comments to stand out amongst the crowd. Hecox continues, describing the second tier, for which five dollars grants access to the first tier's perks in addition to exclusive monthly bonus content, including bloopers, behind-the-scenes footage, and deleted scenes.[1]
After the two rumble their tongues, Padilla introduces the third tier, the "mightiest of all tiers," in which ten dollars additionally grants access to an exclusive live watch party with Hecox and Padilla, in which they watch the latest Smosh video while responding to viewers' comments that "don't suck!". The two encourage viewers to join the program and avoid the label of "fake fan."[1]

"Become a Smosh Member Today!" is a video starring Smosh co-founders and co-owners Ian Hecox and Anthony Padilla and serves as an introduction to Smosh Memberships, a YouTube-based program in which fans can subscribe to a monthly tier that grants access to certain perks and additional Smosh content described in the video. It was uploaded as an unlisted video on the Smosh main YouTube channel on June 19, 2023, and later became publicly visible the next day through the "Memberships" tab of the Smosh channel page.[1]
The video was uploaded one day before Padilla's return to Smosh was officially announced in the publicly uploaded video "WE BOUGHT SMOSH!", in which Hecox and Padilla also announced that they had acquired Smosh from Mythical Entertainment and, for the first time since selling the company to Alloy Digital in 2011, owned Smosh themselves and had gone fully independent, which would require support from fans to keep things financially viable.[2] By upload date, "Become a Smosh Member Today!" marks Padilla's first appearance in the flesh in Smosh media since his exit announcement video "Anthony is Leaving Smosh," which was announced on June 14, 2017,[3] outside of one background appearance in the Smosh Pit video "Largest Creator Hide & Seek w/ PrestonPlayz," which was released on June 16, 2022.[4]
