A SMOSHY CHRISTMAS! is a Smosh video originally uploaded on December 14, 2012. However, due to the coincidental upload timing of the Sandy Hook Elementary School Shooting, the video was listed as private and then deleted. It was then re-uploaded the following Monday (December 17).
Brief Synopsis: Anthony tells Ian a Christmas Bedtime Story before Christmas.
At the night of Christmas eve, Anthony tucks Ian to bed so "Santa" can give him presents. Ian was excited for the presents he can't sleep. When Anthony was about to leave, Ian wanted to hear a bedtime story from him. Anthony was about to tell the of a gnome named Snooki, but Ian didn't want to hear that story because he heard the story a lot of times and wanted to hear a new one.
Story (part 1)
Anthony started the story with a boy and his dog just waking up, but Ian wanted them to be the boy and the dog in the story. Anthony then put him as the boy which he grew out of the bed and the dog was Ian because of the bowl haircut the dog grew. Ian doesn't want to be the dog and wanted Anthony to be the dog. Anthony decided that they're both humans while Ian is scratching his head like a dog and didn't want Ian to disturb because it's his story. Ian wanted to be more buffed in the story which Anthony gave him muscles and Ian grew muscles with he thought was awesome. Anthony wanted to continue with the story so Ian could sleep. Anthony said that they ran out to open up their presents. The last word before this sentence was said by Ian and Anthony in the story.
By the Christmas tree when Ian and Anthony were about opening their presents Ian and Anthony realized they were not there. Ian's body started to deflate to his normal size. Anthony wanted to know what happened to the presents but Ian said that he didn't touch them which Anthony where are the presents. Just then, a random guy came into the house, saying that no one got their presents on Christmas a lot. Anthony asked who he was, to which he replies that he wanted to spread the news, and got shot (this is why the video got delayed) by Ian. Anthony asked why he shot the man, to which Ian said that it's the reason people use guns. Anthony then said to Ian to find out who they are before he shoots them which Ian miserably agrees.
In Anthony's car with no hood, Anthony thought that since no one got there Christmas that... Ian interrupted thinking Santa sold the presents for drugs. Anthony didn't liked the answer saying that Santa's in trouble. Ian then thought that they are trying to save Santa and that's the explanation for going to the North Pole and thought Anthony forgot where he lived.
At the border of Washington state and Canada, A Canadian guard asked the guys why they're going to Canada which Anthony answered he was going to the North Pole. A "ninja" was spying on their conversation. The Canadian asked what about Ian but due to the stereotypical Canadian accent he said "aboot". Ian had an argument with him thinking the Canadian is obsessed with boot and then the Canadian is kicked away by the "ninja". Ian and Anthony screamed like little girls. The "ninja" said that no one is allowed to pass to the North Pole and should turn around or die by his swords. Anthony challenged the "ninja" by almost giving him a road kill which the "ninja" flipped around and landed on the snow laying around. When Ian and Anthony got out of the car, Ian wanted to know who the "ninja" was which Anthony took off revealing one of Santa's elves. Anthony told the elf violently to say who he is and why he trying to stop them. The elf agreed saying his name is Clarence Peabody and was about to say why he tried to stopped them, but Ian killed him with his gun. Anthony felt disturbed about Ian shooting a gun at the helper which Ian explained he could shoot anyone after they said their names as told by Anthony, Anthony was about to explain that the elf was about to reveal the idea, but just felt angry and didn't want to talk about as they both head to the car.
Ending (part 1)
Anthony said that they both lived happily ever after ending the story. Ian didn't like the ending of the story thinking it was the worst. Anthony said to Ian that he doesn't care and said to take it up with Santa and tries to go back to bed, but Ian showing a gun wanted Anthony to finish his story or Anthony will die. Anthony asked if the gun was loaded which Ian thought it wasn't and then after shooting realized it was load. The narrator using suspense asks the viewers if Anthony will survive the gun shot and to tune in next week for the finale of the story. Anthony dodged the shot knowing he survives. The narrator still told the viewers to join next week for the end of the story. The narrator also asked if Anthony will close his butt flap which he thought was wrong and then realized what the narrator meant.
At one point, Ian mistakes a Canadian several times, because of his accent. Some viewers find it racist. Ian and Anthony are both against racism, so it was most likely meant like a small harmless joke.
This video was uploaded as usual on December 14th 2012, but it was coincidentally uploaded at the time the school shooting in Sandy Hook Elementary, Connecticut occured, because of Smosh's concern and that the video included Ian shooting various people with his gun, the video was set to private and deleted.
Also, this is the first and currently only Smosh video to be animated in stop-motion animation. Although, the Shut Up! Cartoons show Zombies vs. Ninjas was also stop motion, though it wasn't fully owned or created by Smosh.
As pointed out in the credits of the finale, most of the Zombies vs. Ninjas crew did the animation.
This was done probably to parody the famous Rankin/Bass, Inc. Stop-motion Christmas Specials. Namely Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer and Santa Claus is Comin' to Town!.
The animation is also very similar to the Adult Swim series Robot Chicken.
SpongeBob SquarePants did a similar stop-motion holiday special called "It's a SpongeBob Christmas!" the same year as this was uploaded.
This is also the first video where it's El Smosh version is uploaded the same day as the English version. It is also the first El Smosh video on a Monday.
Ian's shotgun was shown to be double barreled in the story, but when shown in reality near the end, it was single barreled.
Continuity: Ian never appears to check the shotgun to see if it's loaded or not, as seen when he pulls it out on Anthony and fires it. Not knowing it was loaded.
